At Urban Rec Okanagan our goal is to get everyone, regardless of skill level out to the beach! Due to the demand of beach space we have taken the initiative to build our 3rd set of courts in Kelowna.
While Michaelbrook Golf Beach Courts will still be home to our Coed 6’s Double Headers (1.5 hrs of play – no breaks) we are also going to add the opportunity to play Coed 4’s (best-of-3 Single Match)!
Our NEWEST 4-court beach at Immaculata Beach Courts will be available in time for our summer league and will be perfect for the social beach team that loves to play the game while also meeting new peeps and having a good laugh. Maybe even a game of Corn-Hole between games?
Our new courts will be home to a new, more social scheduling system with Coed 6’s teams playing 2 out of 3 x 45 min matches of beach volleyball per evening. 3 teams will be allocated to each court and play a round-robin style (Team 1 Vs Team 2, Team 1 Vs Team 3, Team 2 Vs Team 3) each week! We will be changing your 3 team groupings each week of course so you get lots of variety of competition over the season!
McCulloch Station Pub Court is still home to our Monday & Tuesday Coed 6’s 17 week leagues, and Thursday Coed 4’s spring/summer leagues.
When you register for a league at Urban Rec Okanagan you should expect to only play on the night you register for, you play ever week regardless of your team’s winning percentage or playoff skill. Urban Beach Okanagan is the premiere place to play with great sand, great atmosphere and fun, social teams to play against. It will become the social hub for fun, social and active beach volleyball players in Kelowna. All levels welcome each night for a night of Fun-First mentality.
Weekday league play will start at 6:00pm each night. As beach volleyball is an outdoor sport and it has been known to rain occasionally in the Okanagan depending on what block you are on at any given minute, we have to let you know that ALL OF OUR BEACH LEAGUES WILL RUN RAIN OR SHINE OR SMOKE - Only in EXCEPTIONAL weather circumstances will leagues be cancelled and generally this will occur onsite by the onsite supervisor.
