Urban Rec Leagues are all about being active, being social, and having fun. At Urban Rec we stress the FUN and social aspect of playing sports with your friends. It really is all about getting out, meeting people, and generally having a good time.

Urban Rec Okanagan is proud to bring back the good old hockey game. Urban Rec Okanagan ball hockey leagues are played out of Central Sports Club - the Okanagan's premier sports facility. When playing in Urban Rec Okanagan ball hockey you will play two 25 minute halves each week on a Sunday or Monday.

Sunday game play is reserved for Recreational
Monday is reserved for Intermediate and Intermediate Plus teamss.

Teams divided into different divisions where possible based on relative skill level, and this leagues is popular, and growing closer to selling out each season!

BNA is the perfect host for this his league out of their brand new 6-lane alley situated upstairs beside the bocce court and airstream bar!

Teams will play 2 games a night in a 1.5 hour time-slot on Monday or Tuesday nights.

Dodgeball

Our coed dodgeball leagues are played 6-on-6 with at least 2 of each gender on the floor to start each game.  We have leagues that play on each Tuesday night from 6pm-10pm in the mission,  or Thursdays in Rutland at Quigley Elementary from 8:30-9:30pm.

Urban Rec Coed Flag Football

This fun, social 6-on-6 league a one hour game per week.  Teams are required to have at least 2 of each gender on the field at all times.

So grab your friends and form your own team, or sign up for an individual's team and make some new friends!  This is a great way to stay active, have fun and meet some great people.  Registration is limited so be sure to register early!

All teams that are registered in a league will have priority registration for that subsequent league.

We offer 4 indoor soccer leagues at the Kelowna United Dome in the mission on a indoor/outdoor turf on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8pm-11pm. Please note all leagues are night specific so if you register for a Monday night you will play on Mondays each week. Our indoor soccer leagues are 5-on-5 league.

Multi-Sport

Do you love sports? Do you enjoy hanging out with your friends in a social enviroment that allows for team work? Multi-Sport combines the fun of the game with the fun of friends!

This league plays outdoor at Kelowna United Dome, Watson Rd Elementary and Ben Lee Park on either Monday or Wednesday nights. Grab 10-12 of your friends and/or co-workers for a fun night out. Games are 1-hour timeslots between 6pm-10pm each week.

Our spring INDOOR offering is new and will be played at Ecole L’anse-au-sable and/or Immaculata throughout the season.

Each team gets a chance to experience playing a variety of coed team sports during the course of the season.

Outdoor Soccer

Slo-Pitch

Urban Rec Okanagan is proud to announce our very first slo-pitch league! Urban Rec Okanagan leagues are meant to bring the FUN back to sports you enjoy or want to try. We hope that our 2-Pitch league will offer a home for your recreational team to get together and have a social game of slo-pitch.

Our 2-pitch league will be played out of King’s Stadium in Downtown Kelowna. When playing in Urban Rec Okanagan 2-pitch league you will play 7 innings and all 10 batters will step up to the plate every inning!!!

This league will play on Wednesday nights for 10 weeks and is open to recreational teams.

We only have room for 6 teams and is sure to be popular!

Top 5 Reasons

To Join A Team

Play to have fun and make new friends. Being social and getting exercise improves overall quality of life and makes you a better person (Please disregard if you're already perfect).

Play to stay active and physically fit all the while enjoying it. Urban Rec leagues are not like running on a treadmill. You aren't a hamster but wouldn't it be fun to drink out of an upside-down watering system.

Play because your professional career didn't take off and you still have competitive streak that needs to be satisfied.

(Please note: skill Levels are taken into consideration so all the hyperactive jocks / jockettes are in their own league.)

Play because science says it will make you happy. Exercise makes your body release endorphins. Endorphins reduce pain and trigger positive feelings!

Dodgeball

If you can dodge a wrench (or even if you can’t) you can play Urban Rec Dodgeball! Originated, and typically played, by elementary and middle-school students, Dodgeball was more of a fun sport that gave you the excuse to throw balls at people. The sport has since grown into something exponentially larger with leagues popping up all over north america along with legitimate professional tournaments. Achieve your dream of Dodgeball supremacy, get a great workout, and laugh your butt off in the process.

Home Business Owners

Two years ago, we started a home business together as a couple. After a lot of hard work, the business is doing great and we're finally able to take some time for ourselves. We joined Urban Rec to get back into shape and maybe meet some new friends. Sports were never my thing, I’m that nerdy girl who got picked last in high school. But a friend and I made an agreement to be more social and get more exercise so we joined Urban Rec and I chose the one sport that I figured I’d have a chance at being good at where I didn’t have to learn a whole bunch of rules. Dodgeball! I LOVE Dodgeball. It’s great exercise and just a blast to play and I’ve met some really interesting awesome people. If you’re looking to get in shape and meet people, Urban Rec is a great place to start!

Our Social League is just like any one of our sports leagues. It encourages interaction, fun, and social activity! But instead of scoring goals/points/downs you get to go to a local establishment, receive discounts on food and drink, and enjoy a night out with your team.
