The Urban Rec community is about playing adult recreational sport while enjoying a night out with friends, co-workers and even family if you dare! We believe our leagues offer you an excuse to get out during the week to enjoy a social experience with your teammates.

How do you know if our 2-pitch league is for you?
✔You don’t own a $600 bat, so you went garage saling after brunch...
✔You have a fun group of people who want to run the bases, learn about foul balls and drink some beer.
✔You were looking to register a team for california kickball but it was full.
Our league is focused on sportsmanship and fun so skill levels are combined to play in a non-competitive competitive environment.
This sport is 4 a-side, full-court at Central Sports Club in Downtown Kelowna. The game closely follows the Canadian Ball Hockey Rules during play with a referee and scorekeeper onsite with some adaptations to cater for the needs of our Okanagan players. Teams must have their own goalie and gear plus matching team shirts.
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the group of friends that enjoy hockey and want to get a run in on Sundays. It’s fast, and it’s fun without the pressure of being televised like the pros 😁

Coed 4’s is available at McCulloch Station Pub, & Immaculata Courts
A complete starting lineup for Coed 6’s consists of a minimum of 2 women and 1 man or for Coed 4’s a minimum of 2 females and 1 male on the court.
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? Anyone that loves to get a bit sandy, and have fun with a bunch of other people that enjoy playing volleyball!

WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the group of friends that enjoy pints and appies while pretending to be Fred Flintstone. This league is pure fun and social with some bowling on the side.

Learn MoreThis sport is 6 a-side league with at least 2 women and 1 man on the court. The game closely follows the rules from “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” with some adaptations to match the needs of our Okanagan players.
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? Anyone that is an underdog, or has practiced listing the 5 D’s of dodgeball: Dodge, Duck, Dive, Dip, Dodge. These are all the qualifications you need to join us in this blast from elementary school! Oh, and some friends that also want to hit other friends with balls 😁

WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT?
This is great for the group of friends that enjoy throwing around a ball but want to have some friendly competitiion in a non-competitive environment.
This league is coed 4-a-side plus a goalie. We use Urban Rec supplied plastic sticks and adapted rules to keep the game fun and light for novice and experienced players alike!
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the group of friends that enjoy recreational sport and want to give hockey a try without the intensity and full rules of our ball hockey league.

Teams require at least 2 women and 1 man on the playing surface while maintaining a high level of focus on fun and sportsmanship. This league was created to support trying new sports while enjoying a social night with not only your teammates but the other team as well. We provide all necessary sport equipment you will need!.
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the group of friends that have realized there is more to life than competition and want to have some fun together while being active.

Regardless of the format, teams must have a lineup that includes at least 2 women and 1 man on the field. We appreciate that adults are accountable and don’t need the supervision of a referee and lines-men.
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the group of friends that enjoy some healthy competition in a non-competitive environment while having more fun than skill.
Learn MoreThis game of slo-pitch is a bit different. All 10 players bat and field every inning with both teams cheering for the hits that look like bunts and catches that are impossible. The rules are adapted to ensure a safer playing environment with more inclusion of all levels. A full lineup is 10 players including at least 4 women and 1 man on the field but an understanding that things happen.
WHO WOULD LIKE THIS SPORT? This is great for the group of friends that want to drink a few beers, cheer for everyone onsite and hangout with good people. It’s fun, its different and we love that it isn’t for everyone.

Urban Rec's schedule and league offerings make it easy to work around my professional life and give me a much needed break. I get to meet new people every year and it gives me something to look forward to every week!

When I joined UR I didn’t know anyone in the community, it was the perfect thing for me to be able to build out my network and have a great time doing it. It is amazing to be able to meet great people and have fun every week, it is something I look forward to every week.
Being a member is so much more than just turning up and playing sports. We offer a social calendar of events, you can enjoy league nights, tournaments, season enders, parties, fun runs, and that’s just to start.
